Community Language Program 2026–27
SRNKAC’s Community Language Program provides a welcoming space for people to learn, practise and strengthen their connection to Ngarabal Language and Culture.
Sessions are held weekly on Tuesdays from 4:30pm to 5:30pm during TAFE NSW teaching terms and are delivered both on Country and online to support participation across the region.
What to Expect
Participants will have opportunities to:
-
learn and practise Ngarabal words and phrases;
-
build confidence using Language in everyday settings;
-
explore connections between Language, Culture and Country;
-
participate in group learning activities and conversation practice;
-
learn from Elders, Language practitioners and guest presenters;
-
connect with other Community members interested in Language revitalisation.
No prior Language knowledge is required and participants are encouraged to learn at their own pace.
Who Can Participate?
The program is open to Community members interested in learning and supporting Ngarabal Language revitalisation.
Ngarabal people remain a priority for participation, however respectful participation from the broader Community is welcomed.
Why Language Matters
Language carries knowledge, identity, history and connection to Country.
By learning and using Language together, we help strengthen cultural continuity, support Community wellbeing and ensure that Language remains a living part of Community life for future generations.
